The KTM 890 SMT is a purebred Supermoto-Touring machine, picking up where the legendary KTM 990 SMT left off to redefine the midweight sport-touring segment. It masterfully blends uncompromised tarmac performance with touring prowess, a true asphalt weapon filled with KTM and Supermoto DNA.

At its core is a thrilling 889 cc parallel-twin LC8c engine, producing approximately 105 PS (77 kW) and 100 Nm of torque. This unit is distinguished by 20% more rotating mass than the original KTM 790 parallel twin, enhancing corner stability and centralization without sacrificing agility. Tuned with ride-by-wire throttle, a PASC slipper clutch, and a six-speed gearbox, it delivers linear power with instant delivery—ideal for carving mountain passes and highway surges.

Built around a high-strength chromium-molybdenum steel frame that uses the engine as a stressed element, the 890 SMT boasts a tight geometry, similar to the KTM 890 ADVENTURE R, instilling confidence at speed. It rides on street-tuned WP APEX suspension: 43 mm inverted open-cartridge forks and an adjustable piggyback-reservoir rear shock, offering 180 mm of front and rear travel for precise handling and comfort on varied road surfaces. The front forks feature convenient tool-free adjusters for compression and rebound damping.

Its 17″ lightweight, light-alloy wheels are wrapped in aggressive Michelin PowerGP tires, chosen for their excellent grip, durability, and fast warm-up. A ground clearance of around 227 mm and a single-piece Supermoto-style seat at 860 mm height provide excellent ergonomics for uninhibited movement and comfort on long rides, even two-up. A new 15.8-liter rally-style tank ensures formidable range, while a double fender design and smoked windshield complete its distinctive look and offer practical protection.

Stopping power is carried by twin 320 mm front discs with J. Juan 4-piston radially mounted calipers and a 260 mm rear disc with a J. Juan double-piston floating caliper. Rider aids include Cornering ABS, switchable Supermoto ABS (allowing rear-wheel lock-up for committed Supermoto riding), lean-sensitive traction control (MTC) with a 6D Inertial Measurement Unit, and selectable ride modes including Street, Sport, and Rain, with an optional Track mode. Optional Quickshifter+ and cruise control further enhance the riding experience.

Designed for serious sport-touring, the bike features a full-color 5″ TFT display with optional smartphone integration.
